About US
Zenobia Mawer founded Finn Hill Family Childcare and Preschool in 2002 out of a desire to provide quality, home-based childcare in a loving atmosphere. As a former teacher, Zenobia enjoys working with the children in her care at age appropriate levels. Zenobia is constantly learning of better ways to meet the needs of your child by participating in classes. In addition to being fully licensed, Zenobia holds an additional certificate in Early Childhood Education from Lake Washington Institute of Technology.
We believe that childcare must benefit both the child and the parent. For the child, our goal is to provide a loving, stress-free home environment, early education with lots of individualized attention, and opportunities to learn social skills. For the parent, we offer experience, dependable care, reasonable pricing, and support. Communication is key as we partner with you to help your child thrive. Aside from daily communication during pick-up and drop-off times, parents are encouraged to schedule a family/provider conference twice a year as a more formal way to communicate goals, strengths, challenges for your child, and how Finn Hill Family Childcare can best support you as a parent.
Classrooms
We have three spaces for the children:
- Play Room - The play room is just as it sounds: a room for playing! With toys and books for all ages and stages, your child will find something they love to play with during free time.
- Classroom - This is the room where the children are dropped off, enjoy their art activities, and participate in circle time. We have snack time and lunch in this room as well.
- Playground - We have a large outdoor playground for the children to let out their energy! We try to go outside everyday, weather permitting. There is a large play structure and plenty of room to run around in a safe and secure fenced in area.

3. What certifications do you have?
I hold an Associate of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education, a BA in Education and attend annual trainings on topics related to caring for young children. I am CPR and First Aid trained.
4. Do you accept DSHS?
Yes, I accept DSHS. Please call or email me to arrange a time to come see the daycare!
5. Do you provide meals?
I do not currently provide meals for the children. I have space in a refrigerator for the children's lunches that are brought from home.
